January 7th & 8th - "LEMONY SNICKETS" (Rated PG). Starring: Jim Carrey.
A series of unfortunate events. Mishaps. Mayhem. Misadventures. Oh Joy. Based on the children's book series. Count Olaf, the children's Uncle and new guardian, tries a series of dastardly tricks to gain control over the young one's inheritance. Clever script, good special effects and production, including a multiple character portrayal by the ingenious and talented actor, Jim Carrey.

January 14th & 15th - "MEET THE FOCKERS" (Rated PG-13). Starring: Robert DeNiro, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Barbra Streisand.
The sequel follow-up to "Meet The Parents", this deals with the further dementia of the troubled parents concerning the planning and control of the soon-to-be-wed young couple--this time with the meeting between the bride/groom's parents. Funny stuff, with a rare appearance from the once-diva, Barbra S. Dustin Hoffman is a riot.

January 21st & 22nd - "CLOSER" (Rated R). Starring: Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman, and Clive Owen.
A very pointed tag line in the review trailer goes like this: "If you believe in love at first sight . . . . you never stop looking". Whoa. We liked that line, and think the movie should prove interesting. It's basically a look at two couples, fate, relationships, infidelity, and the reasons for all of the above.

January 28th & 29th - "PHANTOM of the OPERA". (Rated PG-13). Starring: Gerard Butler, Emmy Rossum, Patrick Wilson, Miranda Richardson, and Minnie Driver.
We are told that this is THE movie adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's play. If you've ever had the opportunity to see a good production of the live musical/opera, you may--like us--have suspicions about a "good" movie. There's only one way to find out. A classic tale of a disfigured guy in a mask, fawning over a beautiful opera singer who is already taken. He (The Phantom) goes a little wacky and vindictive, then remorseful. Then, she eventually ends up at his place, and all hell breaks loose. Sort-of. Some macho fighting and scary stuff, and---oh yeah---some really, really good singing numbers.

Admission is still only $5.00 ($3.00 for children 12 and under)
